Why doesn't Java automatically initialize local variables with its default value like it does with arrays, class variables, etc.?
public class A {
public static void main(String[] args) {
boolean[] test = new boolean[1];
System.out.println(test[0]);
}
}
prints false, as specified by the Java spec.
